Thank you for your interest in becoming a mentee with the Psychology Undergraduate Mentorship Program (PUMP)!

PUMP matches upper-year undergraduate students (3rd year or above) in psychology at York with a graduate student mentor in psychology to support you in navigating the graduate school application process and pursuing research opportunities. As a mentee, you can expect to meet individually or in small groups with your mentor at least four times over the academic year. These meetings may focus on your academic goals and objectives for graduate school, including identifying programs to apply to, polishing your CV and application materials, and/or exploring ways to gain research experience before applying.

PLEASE NOTE: If we reach maximum capacity for mentees this year, you will be placed on a waitlist and notified by PUMP if a Mentor becomes available later in the year.

By submitting a Mentee application, your email will also be added to the PUMP undergraduate listserv for upcoming seminar series and other professional development opportunities that arise.

Thank you for your interest in becoming a mentee with the Psychology Undergraduate Mentorship Program (PUMP). Please respond to the questions below: I am an upper-year undergraduate student in psychology (3rd year or above, or currently enrolled in PSYC3000 courses or above). I wish to be matched with a Mentor and meet at least 4 times from October 2026 to April 2027. I have read and understand that I may not be matched with a Mentor this year due to capacity constraints. If matched with a Mentor, I will notify PUMP if I can no longer attend meetings or need to withdraw from the program to give others the opportunity to be matched. We recognize that preparing for graduate school can feel overwhelming, and students may not always know where to start. Group mentorship is intended to give you the opportunity to share experiences, insights, and concerns with peers in a supportive setting, while still benefiting from a graduate mentor’s guidance.

PUMP also hosts workshop seminars for topics related to graduate school in psychology and other areas professional development, as well as individual Drop-in CV sessions for undergraduate students in psychology.
